Ken and I were married

LOVE FOR A
LIFETIME
I look now into vacant eyes in an old man’s face,
Tend to his needs as a Mother does her Child.
God, how can this be?
I listen as he asks if our Kiddies are in bed,
Not remembering they have both long been wed.
God, how can this love be?
Through his responsibilities I walk a rugged mile,
Fumbling and stumbling all the while.
God, how can this be love?
“For better or worse, your
promise to ME!”
And I weep.
My heart knows ours will ever be
The Gift of a Lifetime of Love from Thee!
