A MOTHER'S PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

My heart bows quietly before you

 In Holy Adoration.

You are our Almighty Creator,

In control of all things--

at ALL times.

You are the Author of

LOVE and HOPE

JOY and PEACE

FAITH and PATIENCE

GENTLENESS

LONGSUFFERING

SELF-CONTROL.

Father,

You love your children and know what's best, always.

When it seemed I was not to experience Motherhood,

You blessed me abundantly

In your own perfect timing!

Oh, how being a mother has helped me comprehend

YOUR EVERLASTING LOVE!

What a gift and a blessing--

My son and my daughter!

   I understand and appreciate

My daughter's love and concern for her 

Bright, petite and active little toddler.

What a unique masterpiece you have created!

What a love gift to our family!

To think of life without Little Miss Emily

Would be unbearable!

But you know this.

And you understand.

Lord, Master, Healer and Friend,

You know our humanness,

Our strengths and weaknesses.

You  know of the mixed emotions and restless nights

Over the doctor's suspicions of grave health issues.

For medical technology I do, indeed, thank you.

In it there is healing.

But, God, I come now directly to you

The Great Physician

And ask for your healing touch for little Emily.

And even before I ask, God, you know

MOTHERS

Require a double dose of your

PEACE.

Please let your calm assurance settle down

over my daughter's spirit.

CONCERN?

Always.

FEAR?

The enemy's delight.

Lord, fear has no Hope in Love's Presence.

You desire to replace worry with the

STRENGTH and POWER

of a

SOUND MIND.

Please wipe fearful and worrisome doubts

From my precious daughter's thoughts

That she may rest--

REST

In her Father's loving arms.
